Notices from the Health Promotion Forum: March 2022
Kia ora koutou katoa As we bring this monthly notice to you, we'd like to express our solidarity with the people of Ukraine and support for the health and humanitarian workers and all those impacted by the crisis. The invasion by Russia, incited whilst the world is still in the throes of a pandemic and facing climate change, reminds us that peace and security which many of us have come to take for granted, are among the most fundamental determinants of health and wellbeing!
Meanwhile on the training front, HPF has just completed its first online version of the Certificate of Achievement in Introducing Health-Promotion (CoA) jointly offered by HPF and Manukau Institute of Technology. Enrolments for the next CoA will open soon, so keep an eye out on our Facebook page and website for more information and registration links.
HPF is also holding a webishop to explore and discuss the potentials of the 'Geneva Charter for Wellbeing to inform health promotion in Aotearoa in the next few decades' on 7th April. The Charter outlines the necessary elements of a ‘wellbeing society’ and highlights the need for global commitments to achieve equitable health and social outcomes now and for future generations, without destroying the health of our planet.
With Aotearoa at phase 3 of the response to Omicron (red) the HPF team is continuing to work at home, but we are only a phone call or email away if you have any enquiries.
Follow the latest advice on how to prepare and stay safe.
To our valued members we invite you to take advantage of our exclusive offer to advertise your job vacancies, courses/webishops and events in the field of health promotion in this notice, which is due out on the 20th of each month, so be sure to give us ample notification.
