Te Rongo from the Health Promotion Forum: January 2023
Kia ora! Hari tau hou tātou kātoa - Happy New Year everyone!
We’re back from our break, and we hope like us, you had a good rest over the festive season and took the time to refocus on your health and wellbeing.
This year an exciting development for HPF and for health promotion will be the establishment of the National Accreditation Organisation (NAO) for Aotearoa New Zealand. The approval of HPF by the International Union for Health Promotion and Education (IUHPE) to become an NAO is a ‘significant milestone’ for health promotion in this country’. The new service will assess and formally acknowledge health promoters who will register – for their professional integrity and ongoing development, while the wellbeing and safety of the community is ensured. We’ll be keeping you updated on the progress of the NAO through our social media platforms and website.
Our website is still undergoing some construction and we ask that you bear with us as we work towards completing pages and uploading resources and information.
On the training front, dates have been scheduled for our next webishops, and the Certificate of Achievement in Introducing Health Promotion Level 4 (CoA). You can contact Emma Frost for more details (emma[at]hauora.co.nz).
Note: Exclusively for our members we offer space in Te Rongo to advertise job vacancies, courses, webishops and other events in the field of health promotion. Te Rongo is sent out on the 20th of each month, so please let us know at least a week before if you'd like to include a notice. Contact lavinia[at]hauora.co.nz.
