Te Rongo from the Health Promotion Forum: February 2023
Kia ora It has been a tough start to the year with regions of the North Island taking a battering from the unprecedented weather events over the past three weeks. Stories coming in about the widespread devastation and destruction wrought by Cyclone Gabrielle are truly horrendous, and our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who have been affected.
On a more positive note, we are offering our next webishop 'Māori Health Promotion – Developing a prosperous workforce for whānau and whenua’ FREE to our members. In light of the extreme weather events, the webishop is timely in that it will focus on planetary health and the need to embed an environmental health lens on our workforce.
Registration and enrolment is now open for Intake 1 of our Certificate of Achievement in Introducing Health Promotion Level 4 (CoA). You can contact Emma Frost for more details (emma[at]hauora.co.nz).
We are still uploading information and resources to our website's Mainstream, Maori and Pacific Health Promotion pages, and we ask that you please bear with us as we work towards filling these pages. Contact Lavinia if you have any queries or are looking for anything in particular (lavinia[at]hauora.co.nz).
Note: Exclusively for our members we offer space in Te Rongo to advertise job vacancies, courses, webishops and other events in the field of health promotion. Te Rongo is sent out on the 20th of each month, so please let us know at least a week before if you'd like to include a notice. Contact lavinia[at]hauora.co.nz.
