Trustees needed for White Elephant Trust
The White Elephant Trust is looking for Christchurch-based trustees with experienced heads and passionate hearts to join its board. The Trust is looking for 4 trustees who - between them - have experience in:
- Not-for-profit governance or management;
- The youth sector and/or youth engagement;
- Fundraising and/or financial management; and
- Bi-cultural practice and implementation.
The role is voluntary, and Trustees agree to commit for 12 months at a time. The practical commitment is a monthly meeting (for up to 2 hours - currently on a Tuesday evening) and an annual strategy jam weekend for all board and staff (usually in August each year).
Contact the White Elephant Trust if you are interested or to find out more:
- chairperson Rachel Hawthorne (tobluemoons[at]gmail.com) or
- manager Mike Field (mike[at]we.org.nz).
This year's major tasks for the Trust will be:
- Settling into our new home and rolling out a new service delivery model;
- Broadening the reach of White Elephant and increasing both the number and diversity of activities that occur within our new space;
- Employing a new manager, as Mike steps down at the end of the year to support his new young family; and
- Formalising and professionalising Trust practices and processes to ensure long-term sustainability.
