Christchurch City Council Newsline: 10th December 2025

Whether you’re ringing in the New Year with little ones or want to party like it’s 1999, come join in the fun with free, live music at North Hagley Park.

Festivities begin with the NYE Kids’ Countdown from 4 to 7pm led by Christchurch children’s entertainer Trubie-Dylan Smith. There will be games, live music, dance battles and a massive countdown at 7pm with streamers.

Then step things up a notch at NYE25 with three fantastic live acts taking the stage from 8pm to midnight, DJSambora keeping the beats flowing in between, and an epic fireworks show at midnight to welcome in 2026.

Timaru-based rock country artist Brad Staley is the night’s opening act, followed by neosoul pop duo Dillastrate, and Wellington-based headliners Kora on stage from around 10.30pm. Dillastrate’s Henare Kaa will be MCing the evening.

The all-ages New Years Eve events on 31st December 2025 are part of the Christchurch City Council’s summer events programme.
