Join the Conservation Volunteers this summer
Come along to an upcoming summer working bee or nursery days with the Conservation Volunteers (CVNZ). There are opportunities to get involved across the city.
Conservation Volunteers provide all tools. It’s helpful if you can bring your own gloves. Teams will need to provide their own water, snacks and lunch. Extra water will be available.
Whakaraupō Lyttelton Harbour
Help eradicate pest weed species around the harbour.
- Steadfast Reserve: Saturday 13th December 2025 (9.30am to 2.30pm).
Ōtākaro Avon River Corridor
Help maintain plantings along the Avon.
- Dallington Landing: Thursday 18th December 2025 (9.30am to 2.30pm).
Community Conservation Christchurch
Come along to help by doing different tasks around these special locations.
- Travis Wetland Nature Heritage Park: 17th December 2025 (9.30am to 2pm); and
- Ōtukaikino Living Memorial: 23rd January 2026 (9.30am to 2pm).
Ōtautahi Rotary Nursery at the Climate Action Campus
Help propagate, grow and nurture plants for the Ōtākaro Avon River Corridor and surrounding suburbs to restore the biodiversity of our neighbourhoods. All sessions start at 1pm.
- Thursday 18th December 2025;
- Tuesday 13th January 2026;
- Monday 19th January 2026; and
- Tuesday 27th January 2026.
