Green Drinks: Horomamae - Poipoia te punui, koi karo te tītī
This month's Green Drinks welcomes Tarryn Ryan for a powerful kōrero on colonisation, environmental restoration, and the enduring connection between takata whenua and te taiao.
Date: Thursday 15th October 2026.
Time: 6 to 8pm. Talk begins at 6.30pm.
Location: Sugarhorse Bar and Eatery (100 Moorhouse Avenue, Addington).
Cost: FREE.
This kōrero will journey through the history of Horomamae, one of the thirty-six tītī islands off the coast of Rakiura that generations of Rakiura Māori have harvested from. Tarryn's presentation will explore the environmental impacts of colonisation, the deep relationship takata whenua hold with te taiao, and the real, present-day benefits of tino rakatirataka and mana motuhake.
