Child Matters is holding two introductory webinars on child protection in July 2026 as well as the 5-day Children Protection Studies Programme in Christchurch.

Child Protection Essentials: Identify, Respond, Report
This workshop focuses on understanding the concept of vulnerability and explores factors that contribute to vulnerability, risk and child abuse. Participants will learn how to identify when children and young people are vulnerable to abuse and neglect, and how to intervene early.
Date: Tuesday 21st July 2026.
Time: 9am to 1.30pm.
Location: Online.
Cost: $150 per person plus GST.

Role and Responsibilities of the Designated Person for Child Protection
This webinar is designed to provide you with the knowledge and understanding of your role as Designated Person for Child Protection, covering:
- Understanding the Designated Person role.
- Key responsibilities and best practices.
- Real-world examples and case studies.
Date: Thursday 23rd July 2026.
Time: 10am to noon.
Location: Online.

Child Protection Studies Programme
The purpose of the 5-day Child Protection Studies Programme is to enhance the skills of those who are involved with children and young people, by giving them a deeper understanding and knowledge to be able to take positive action to protect children and young people.
Dates: Monday 27th to Friday 31st July 2026.
Time: 9am to 4pm each day.
Location: Russley Golf Club (428 Memorial Avenue, Burnside).
Cost: $750 per person plus GST. Price includes workbooks, assessments, resources and morning tea.
