Doctor of Health Sciences 2027 enrolments now open
The University of Canterbury’s Doctor of Health Sciences (DHSc) is designed for health professionals who want to develop research that informs their profession.
The programme provides an opportunity to evaluate an area of health you are passionate about. This could include evaluating health innovations and initiatives designed to reduce disparities in health outcomes, generating evidence for improved practice and service delivery, or conducting research into population health needs.
The DHSc is a 360-point doctoral programme, with Part One completed part-time over 24 months as a research portfolio, followed by a thesis. The programme is primarily designed for professionals who wish to study part-time while maintaining paid employment.
Applicants will generally need an Aotearoa New Zealand honours or master’s degree, or an equivalent qualification, and at least five years of relevant professional practice.
