Seeking consumers to join the NZ Clinical Senate
The NZ Clinical Senate is seeking five people with recent experience of health care to join its membership.
The Senate is a newly established group that provides advice to the Health NZ board on issues that impact the entire health system.
Current members represent clinicians from a wide range of specialties and areas of practice including hospitals, primary care, community services, public health, academia, and more.
Individuals with recent personal or whānau experience of the health system are invited to join the Senate.
Ideal applicants will:
- Have lived experience with health services (either personally or through whānau);
- Be connected to existing community or health networks; and
- Be willing and able to consider issues from a whole-of-system perspective.
Note: This opportunity is intended for individuals who are not currently employed in a clinical role.
This is a unique and valuable opportunity to enhance consumer and clinical contributions within Aotearoa’s evolving health system. Insights gained from navigating this system are essential for shaping a more responsive and inclusive future for healthcare across Aotearoa.
