Board members needed for Hei Whakapiki Mauri Trust
Hei Whakapiki Mauri Trust is now looking for new Trustees to join their Trust Board. They are guided by the principles of Whanau Ora and are seeking people who bring:
- Lived experience
- Good governance experience and skills
- Financial understanding – comfortable with budgets and funding streams
- Strong organisational abilities – helping us build effective systems and processes
The Hei Whakapiki Mauri Trust is in a development stage and needs strong governance to take it to the next level. You don’t need to be an expert in everything, but we do need Trustees who are thoughtful, reliable, and able to commit to regular meetings and mahi.
Trustees are appointed for three years, following a fair and open process (including Police vetting). The Trust values rangatiratanga and a strong commitment to Whanau Ora. You are encouraged to apply If you’re ready to help shape the Trust's future.

About Hei Whakapiki Mauri Trust
Hei Whakapiki Mauri began in 2016 as a Whanau Ora entity and became a Trust in 2023. The ropu provides a kaupapa Māori space for tangata whaikaha Māori and their whānau to connect. The Trust is funded through philanthropic putea and is supported by Kanohi ki te Kanohi if whānau need extra assistance.
The kaupapa is centred on tangata whaikaha Māori and whanau supporting each other - being Māori first and lifting the mauri of everyone. The ropu holds monthly hui and shares regular panui, as well as maintaining an active presence on social media.
