Those with 4WD vehicles will tackle the more remote river tracks, and there will also be areas for volunteers to clean up on foot – so this event is perfect for families, community groups, and anyone keen to make a difference.
The clean-up will focus on the berms, riverbanks, and access points where dumped rubbish, stray plastics, and other debris threaten the river’s health and natural beauty.
Rubbish dropped in the parks can end up along our coasts and oceans after getting blown into our rivers and being dragged downstream. If we keep our riverside parks clean, we reduce the amount of rubbish ending up on our beaches.
Rubbish pick-up events are a simple but powerful way to care for our environment.
