Join the Trees that Count Community Planting Day
Join Trees That Count and Honda New Zealand to plant 1,500 native trees at Te Hapū o Ngāti Wheke in Rāpaki. Come along to this coastal planting site with beautiful views over the Lyttelton harbour and of native bush in the gully at the bottom of the site. The planting site has a gentle gradient and thick grass.
Date: Saturday 19th July 2025.
Time: 9.30am to 1pm.
Location: Omaru Road (Lyttelton).
Participants will be planting above a native bush line to helping to reduce erosion and sediment exiting the harbour ecosystem below, whilst also supporting the sites native restoration process.
All tools and equipment will be provided and a BBQ will be held after the event for volunteers.
