FREE Webinar: Ōpāwaho Heathcote River and climate change effects
The Christchurch Envirohub invites you to their upcoming webinar with Finn Jackson and Malcolm Long from the Ōpāwaho Heathcote River Network for what promises to be a fascinating and important kōrero about one of Ōtautahi's most loved waterways and the climate challenges it faces.
Date: Wednesday 1st July 2026.
Time: 5 to 6pm.
Location: Online.
Cost: FREE.
The Ōpāwaho Heathcote River Network published "Under Pressure: Climate Change and the Ōpāwaho Heathcote River Catchment" in March 2026. This report compiled and analysed local climate change projections to better understand how the catchment may change in the future, alongside a review of the current climate change policy framework.
Finn will walk us through how the report was put together, and Malcolm will explore what a meaningful response to its findings might look like - and what that means for our communities, our policies, and our awa.
This FREE event is a fantastic opportunity to deepen your understanding of local climate change impacts and connect with others who care about the future of our waterways.
