Use your Art in Activism Workshop
Join NZ artists who have used their art in protests:
- Pat Hanly; an anti-nuclear activist,
- Ralph Hotere’s [Aramoana series protesting against an aluminium smelter that would destroy wetlands] and
- Friedrich Hundertwasser's nature conservation with themes like "save the rain and "save the whales" will inspire us!
Develop a poster, leaflet, bumper sticker, postcard, card or bookmark to deliver your message. Suitable for children aged 8 to 12 years.
Date: Tuesday 7th July 2026.
Time: 10am to noon.
Cost: $16 per child, including all materials.

Unlock the Mysteries of Dinosaurs
What do you know about dinosaurs? New research with emerging technologies reshapes our picture of these extraordinary creatures, extinct for absolute ages ago (66 million years) WOW!!
Learn fun facts from award winning science writer Simon Pollard. After a quick break, Margaret will help you switch to channel your inner artist to make a dinosaur artwork to take home.
Suitable for children aged 5 to 14 years. Children 8 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Date: Thursday 9th July 2026.
Time: 10am to 12.30pm.

Joyful Woolly Repairs
This is a crafty learning and making workshop that will appeal to crafty kids who like to express their individuality. No experience is necessary and all materials are supplied. You will learn how to mend and decorate a woollen beanie using darning and needle felting.
You also get to take home your own wonderfully decorated beanie – in time for winter. Book soon only 10 places! Suitable for children aged 8 to 14 years.
Date: Saturday 11th July 2026.
Time: 10am to 12.30pm.
Cost: $21 per child including all materials (a hand knitted beanie to repair and embellish).

Another Fun Dumpling Workshop
Have fun learning how to make vegetarian dumplings and taste a sample during class. Kazuko, our Japanese tutor teaches this popular class to adults and has adapted it for young people.
Bring an apron to wear or suitable clothes for cooking in and a takeaway container for your dumplings please. Suitable for children aged 8 to 14 years.
Date: Monday 13th July 2026.
Time: 1 to 3pm.
Cost: $22 per child including all materials (ingredients, recipe and a dumpling gadget a hand knitted beanie to repair and embellish).
