Ottawa Charter at 40: What's Working, What's Missing, What's Next
This event is part of the series of online workshops the Health Promotion Forum of NZ (HPF) is hosting marking the marking the 40th anniversary of the World Health Organization's landmark Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion.
The Ottawa Charter for Health Promotion is a framework that continues to shape how we think about health and wellbeing here in Aotearoa and around the world.
So it's time to pause and ask some honest questions about the framework that has shaped health promotion practice in Aotearoa for four decades. In this 90-minute workshop, we'll explore how the Charter genuinely shows up (or doesn't) in our day-to-day mahi, where Te Tiriti o Waitangi sits alongside it, and what you find yourself reaching for that the Charter doesn't quite give you.
Through group discussion, we'll work together to surface main messages you'd most want carried forward into the National Dialogue. Grab a cup of tea and join us for a thoughtful, collaborative conversation about where the Charter has taken us - and where we go from here.
Date: Wednesday 7th October 2026.
Time: 11am to 12.30pm.
Location: Online via zoom.
Cost: $29 for HPF members or $99 for non-members. A discounted organisational rate is also available.
