Kaimanaaki needed at Housing First Ōtautahi
Housing First Ōtautahi at the Christchurch Methodist Mission (CMM) is looking for a Kaimanaaki to build relationships with the kaewa based on rangatiratanga, whakawhanaungatanga and manaakitanga and acknowledge and enhance the mana of the kaewa.
The Kaimanaaki is a permanent full-time contract role (generally from 11am to 7.30pm Monday to Friday) and will have responsibility for the complex and will work closely with all Housing First Ōtautahi kaimahi to support kaewa to sustain their tenancies. The majority of your day will be spent at He Oranga Rua although at times you may be required in the Housing First Ōtautahi Office.
He Oranga Rua is an extension of the Housing First service providing additional support to kaewa (clients) who have experienced difficulties sustaining a tenancy. The service has a tikanga Māori approach with the kaewa of the complex being developed together with the kaewa. It is based in an inner-city set of 8 units. The kaupapa is designed to be a teaching environment to assist with kaewa growth, understanding of how to look after their tenancy and the learning of valuable life skills.
