Taiao. Tangata. Hauora: Climate Health and Sustainable Healthcare in Aotearoa Conference 2025
The University of Otago is delighted to announce the 2025 Climate Health and Sustainable Healthcare conference in Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington. HUB spaces will be available for a limited number of participants in Ōtautahi Christchurch, and there is also an option to attend online.
Date and Time: Monday 28th July (starting at 10am) and Tuesday 29 July 2025 (starting at 9am).
Location: Nordmeyer Theatre at University of Otago Wellington (23a Mein Street, Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington).
Cost: From $100 for in-person attendance. $100 for HUB registrations and $40 for online-only registrations.
The conference will be an action-oriented sharing of diverse research and practice knowledges about climate change, health and sustainable healthcare in Aotearoa and beyond, centralising mātauranga Māori and Indigenous knowledges.
The organisers particularly welcome tangata whenua contributions, as well as Pacific and other Indigenous voices. Areas of relevance to the conference include:
- Effects of climate change on health and healthcare.
- Healthy, equitable, Tiriti-based climate change adaptation.
- Delivering high quality sustainable and equitable healthcare within planetary boundaries.
- Climate policy grounded in mātauranga Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and health equity.
- Climate change and disabled people.
- Climate change and mental health and wellbeing.
- Health-sector and health professional action in the current context.
