Celebrate Chinese Language Week early at an Immersion Day
You are invited to celebrate Chinese culture at a fun-filled afternoon at Tūranga featuring:
- A Sichuan face-changing performance;
- Lacquer fan making;
- Face painting;
- Paper folding;
- Tea tasting;
- Calligraphy; and
- Traditional Chinese medicine consultations.
Date: Saturday 23rd August 2025.
Time: Activities start at 2.30pm, following a special book donation ceremony.
Location: TSB Space at Tūranga (Cathedral Square, Central City).
Cost: FREE.
All activities are FREE and perfect for the whole whānau! Bring your little ones and immerse yourselves in the rich world of Chinese culture as New Zealand Chinese Language Week approaches (31st August to 6th September 2025).
This event is run by the Confucious Institute at the University of Canterbury in collaboration with Christchurch City Council, the Consulate-General of the People's Republic of China in Christchurch, and the New Zealand Chinese Language Teachers’ Association Canterbury.
