Come along to the 2026 Waimakariri Volunteer Expo
The Waimakariri Volunteer Expo returns in 2026, with this year’s event taking place at the Trevor Inch Memorial Library in Rangiora. Come along and meet the many local groups and organisations looking for people who are keen to give back to their community.
Whether you’re new to volunteering or simply exploring your options, the Volunteer Expo is a great chance to connect with a wide range of organisations in one place. You’ll be able to ask questions, learn about what each group does, and find the roles that best match your skills, interests, and availability.
Date: Friday 6th March 2026.
Time: 4 to 7pm.
Location: Trevor Inch Memorial Library (141 Percival Street, Rangiora).
Cost: FREE!
You’ll find a diverse mix of groups, including emergency services, social services, community and information services, environmental groups, community safety organisations, friendship and support groups and many more.
There’s something for everyone. Examples of volunteer roles on offer include:
- Providing companionship or mentoring.
- Cooking or serving a community meal.
- Helping in an op shop.
- Joining a garden working bee.
- Becoming a neighbourhood contact person.
- Reception or admin support.
- Driving people to health appointments.

The Waimakariri Volunteer Expo supports the Council’s commitment to strengthening the capability of our local community and social services. By getting involved, you’re helping create a more connected, resilient, and inclusive community.
