New Zealand’s indigenous flora and fauna are among the most distinct in the world. Our butterflies are no exception, with one of the highest rates of endemism known.
This presentation will cover all of our indigenous butterfly species, including endemic and vagrant species, as well as the full range of introduced species found in New Zealand. The talk will conclude with a focus on conservation including what’s happening now, and what we can all do to help nurture and protect our unique butterfly fauna.
