Save old T-shirts from landfill and make something useful
Join this fun upcycling session from the WEA where you will turn old t-shirts and jeans into useful and colourful baskets and pot covers.
Date: Saturday 16th August 2025.
Time: 10am to 12.30pm.
Location: Canterbury WEA (59 Gloucester Street, Central City).
Cost: $23 per person.
Kazuko Iwai will help participants to turn t-shirts and jeans into yarn before using simple techniques to weave and crochet them together into baskets of varying shapes and sizes.
This class is suitable for adults and curious kids from 8 years and up but younger ones may need active help from a parent or caregiver. You are welcome to bring your own T-shirts, however there will be plenty of materials available on the day if you don't.
