Health Promotion Advisor wanted at NPHS Te Mana Ora
Te Mana Ora - part of the National Public Health Service - is looking for a health promoter to join their Te Waipounamu regional team. This is a fixed-term parental leave 12-month opportunity.
The specific focus of this fixed-term role is open to being defined for the successful candidate. Priority areas they are particularly interested to hear about your skillset or interest in, include:
- Building connected communities and reducing social isolation;
- Enabling and supporting civic participation for increased belonging and wellbeing;
- Māori or Pacific Youth engagement;
- CALD communities; and
- the disability community.
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, enable and evaluate health promotion projects, strategies, policies, interventions and initiatives that address determinants of health and wellbeing – aligned with community and government priorities.
- Contribute knowledge, expertise and ideas to local, regional and national teams and programmes of work.
Te Mana Ora wants an experienced Health Promoter that:
- is able to demonstrate mature communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to write and present effectively and have strong facilitation skills.
- has strong established community connections in your focus area and will value strong internal and external relationships essential for achieving sustainable outcomes.
- has experience in building strong connected communities and enabling outcomes collaboratively alongside communities and wider stakeholders.
They want to hear from you about what connections, skills and passions you can bring on a determinant of health or for a particular community, that could be ably supported in a 12- month role.
