Come along to Child Immunisation Research Talks
Come and join Research for Children Aotearoa for FREE public talks by Canterbury researchers on improving children's health. This event will feature three researchers who will share their research across critical areas of immunisation for children and young people.
Date: Tuesday 28th April 2026.
Time: 5 to 6.30pm. Light refreshments will be served.
Location: Manawa (276 Antigua Street, Central City) - behind Christchurch Hospital Outpatients.
Cost: FREE.
The topics being discussed are:
- Vaccinating pregnant women to prevent whooping cough in babies with Professor Tony Wallis (Paediatric Infectious Disease Specialist at Health NZ Waitaha and Head of Paediatrics at the University of Otago Christchurch).
- An introduction to stratified-SEIR models: How can we take demographic inequities (such as unequal vaccine rates) into account when we make policy decisions? with Vincent Lomas [PhD candiate from the University of Canterbury].
- Measles: after the spots fade with Dr Anna Howe (Senior Lecturer at the University of Canterbury's School fo Health Sciences).
