Part time Registered Nurse needed at MECFS Canterbury
MECFS Canterbury is looking for a new team member to help improve the quality of life for people with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis /Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Long COVID in Canterbury, and to make a difference for their whānau and health teams too.
ME/CFS is a serious long-term illness. People living with ME/CFS experience a fluctuating severity of symptoms, and are severely impacted in the activities of daily living. While research has shown this is a biomedical illness, treatments and appropriate support from the health system and whānau continue to lag.
This Registered Nurse role offers:
- Part time hours – 18 hours per week.
- Flexible days and hours of work - with the exception of a couple of fixed monthly meetings.
- Ability to work from home, office and elsewhere.
- In-house education sessions.

To be eligible for this position, you must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa, a vehicle and drivers license and be prepared to undergo police vetting.
MECFS Canterbury are a growing community health organisation and charity that provides information, validation, clinical support, connection, practical support, and advocacy for those with ME, CFS and Long COVID. They also provide educational opportunities and guidance about ME/CFS for health professionals.
